I’ll be attending this all day celebration of the roots of American Music at the Caramoor Estate in Katonah, New York. I’ll have a table representing Don Grossinger Mastering, dealing with the history of recording .An assortment of fine musical groups will be playing starting at 11 AM Saturday morning 6/25/16.
As quoted from Caramoor:
Folk. Blues. Bluegrass. Country. Swing Bands. String Bands. The Roots of American Music.
Roots Music is music with terroir – a sound with a sense of place. That place might be a juke joint in Mississippi, a front porch in Appalachia, a dance hall in the Texas panhandle, or a church in Oklahoma. Could be the silence of the plains, or the swamp of the bayou. Embedded in that place are the hopes, dreams, desires, fears, and sentiments of everyday folks – all expressed in Roots Music. We feature a veritable gumbo of artists – all in the context of Caramoor’s unique terroir. So bring your ears, a friend or three, and enjoy the rich variety of American Roots Music with a little folk, country, blues, string band, bluegrass, gospel, early jazz, and inventive variations on all.
